A new phone system only helps if people use it. When the big online providers turn on service, they send a link to an admin portal and a PDF guide, and leave the office manager to figure out the rest between patient check-ins or customer calls. Features go unused, calls get dropped during transfers, and voicemail boxes fill up.
Our phone system training happens in person, on the day your new system goes live. We stay until your team is comfortable, and we come back if they need a refresher.
What we cover with every user
- Transferring calls, both the quick "send it over" transfer and the kind where you announce the caller first.
- Parking and picking up calls from another phone, including over the overhead paging system if you have one.
- Voicemail: setting up a greeting, checking messages from the desk and from a cell phone, and getting voicemail by email.
- Hold, conference, and do-not-disturb, and what each light and button on the phone means.
- The mobile and desktop apps for anyone who takes calls away from their desk.
Extra time with the person who runs the office
Whoever manages the phones gets their own session on the admin side: changing the after-hours greeting, switching to holiday mode, adding or removing users, changing who rings when a call comes in, and pulling call history. We show them how to do the common tasks themselves and leave the rest to us.
Something to keep at every desk
Each user gets a one-page quick-reference card for their phone model, with your office's extension list and the steps for the features you actually use. It's printed and left at the desk, because that's where people look when a call is on hold.
Training after launch
New hires, a new front desk lead, or a feature you didn't need until now: call us and we'll schedule time in person or over the phone. Training is part of how we support your business phone system, not an extra you have to buy.
Common questions
How long does training take?
Most staff need 20 to 30 minutes. We train in small groups or one-on-one so the office can keep answering calls while we work.
Can you train our staff in shifts?
Yes. For clinics, shops, and warehouses with multiple shifts, we can schedule sessions to reach everyone.
What if someone forgets how to do something?
Check the quick-reference card at their desk, or call us. We're local, so a quick question gets a quick answer.
Do you train on systems you didn't install?
We focus on systems we install and support, but call us and we'll let you know if we can help.
